Does it hurt to use the ShaktiMat?Updated 10 months ago

The short answer is: yes and no.

Acupressure can have a powerful effect. In the first few minutes it is perfectly normal to feel a stinging sensation in the affected area. This is a sign that the tension that has built up is beginning to drain away. The more uncomfortable this feels to you, the more tension is released. Regular users of the ShaktiMat feel little or no pain because the tension in the areas of the body where the mat is used is much less.

Imagine the first and the tenth massage on a hardened body part - regular treatments will steadily release the hardening, it hurts less and less.

If you think you are more sensitive, we recommend the ShaktiMat for beginners in the colour yellow. Due to its larger number of points, the yellow ShaktiMat has the same positive effects as the "original" - only the way there is gentler. As a reminder, the different ShaktiMat strengths have been developed for the different needs of different bodies - with 95% of our customers using the "Original".

Many users find it helpful to use the ShaktiMat in meditation, which helps to focus on the breath and not so much on the pain.
